William Marz

William Henry Marz, 81, of Brevard, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late William and Lydia Marie Marz.

A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, he enjoyed working outside, when he was able, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and working on cars. He worked for New York City sanitation and for Waste Management of Transylvania County for a number of  years before retiring.

He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren but he also enjoyed watching television, reading and his wife Ellie’s cooking.

His loving survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elinor “Ellie” Marz; their children: William Robert Marz (Tracey) of New York, Thomas Joseph Marz of Florida, Kathleen Mary Marz Chase of Florida, and Teresa Ann Cooper (William) of North Carolina; grandchildren Amber Marz, Billy Marz, Andrew Marz, Rob Coates, Andy Coates and Elizabeth Coates; and his brother Robert Charles Marz (Carole) of Florida.

A memorial service for William Marz will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 in the chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations with Father Shawn O’Neal officiating.
