Wanda Waters

Wanda Sue Waters, 87, of Brevard, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at her home in College Walk. A native of Brevard, she was the daughter of the late John Nevitt Waters and the late Dicie Grogan Waters. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters: Ruth Etters and Betty Gammons; brothers Richard “Dick” Waters and Thomas “Tommy” Waters; two nephews: John Etters and a very special nephew, Christopher Morgan.

Wanda was a nurse practitioner and worked at many hospitals in North Carolina before joining the United States Air Force. After a 21 year career in the Air Force, she retired as a Lt. Colonel, having served in Germany, the Philippines, and Japan as well as other stations during and after the Vietnam War.

Her survivors include her sisters, Frances “Snookie” Henson of Brevard and Wilma “Tootsie” Morgan of Euless, Texas; 3 nieces and 5 nephews.

Wanda was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Service plans will be announced at a later date.
