Vol Edward “Eddie” Stamey, 72, of Brevard, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019. Born at his family home in Rosman, he was the son of the late Volney and Eva Galloway Stamey. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers Harold Stamey and Robert Stamey.

A United States Army Veteran, he served two tours in Vietnam earning 3 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He was an avid hunter for many years and loved animals while growing various flowers; but his greatest enjoyment was working with children at Camps Kahdalea and Chosatonga.

His survivors include his daughter, Sharon Vaughn (Anthony); his partner, Susan Kalmbach and her son Josh Kalmbach;  sister Wilda Faye Stamey and brothers Troy Stamey and Randy Stamey and God-son John Trufant and God-daughter Nichole Nelson.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Rosman. Military rites will be provided by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
