Thora Chilson

Thora Percival Chilson, 84, of Brevard, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019. A native of Buffalo, New York, she was the daughter of the late Severn Mortenson and Vera Grace Gray Percival. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Allen Wayne Chilson; son-in-law, Bob Brown; grandchildren: Jessi Arnold, Jeremy Chilson and Soren Chilson; sisters: Evalyn Greatorex and Ruth Studer; and brothers George Percival, Wilbur Percival and James Percival.

A graduate of State University of New York at Alfred, she had been a member of the Episcopal Church since 1951, she was a member of St Philip’s Episcopal Church in Brevard. She was a former member of the Altar Guild, ECW Treasurer and church so-treasurer. She had been a Girl Scout leader for eleven years in Vestal, NY, prior to moving to North Carolina.

Her loving survivors include her daughters: Susan McCalister (Mike) of Seneca, SC, Donald A. Chilson (Wanda) of Charlotte, NC and Carol Brown of Waco, Texas.

Services will be private.
