Rachel Delk

Rachel Lucinda Masters Delk, 86, of Brevard, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020. A lifelong resident of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Abner and Esther Masters. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Delk and their daughter Karen Elain Delk.

Rachel dedicated her life to serving God, her community and her family. She taught Sunday School for many years at First Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. She helped her husband, Joe, write Gospel music.

Rachel was retired from WCCA after serving as the director for decades. She had also served as guardian-ad-litem and served on various community boards of directors.

Rachel leaves behind two daughters Kay Owen and Cindy Delk, both of Brevard; one son, Mark Delk of Arden; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Grant, Thomas Owen, Mickey Grant, Chris Drennen, Tim Drennen, Jessica Drennen and David Delk; along with 13 great-grandchildren.
