Obituary

Nora Lee Rhodes Taylor, 97, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Beulah Newton Rhodes, and widow of the late Robert Glenn Taylor.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Willa Mae Rhodes Conley and Pearl  Brown Scott, and one brother, Claude Butler Brown.

Mrs. Taylor was a graduate of Brevard High School, retired Associate of Belk Department Store, and a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church where she had become an active member on September 17, 1939. She loved and appreciated her church family.

She enjoyed gardening, working and tending to her flowers in the yard; was a meticulous housekeeper, and enjoyed reading, but her greatest joy was in her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Her loving survivors include her daughter, Brenda Taylor (Bert Rider); granddaughter Lynn Austin; and great-grandchildren Zachary and Lacey Austin; Step-grandsons Curtis Rider and Keith Rider; step-granddaughter Sandra Barnwell, and several nieces and nephews.

In honoring her request, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 805 Capps Road, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768.
