Marian Bell

Marian Cornelius Bell, 85, of Brevard, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Born in Marietta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Doyt and Lena Hartness Cornelius. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Phillips, and her son, Steven Anthony Bell.

A member of the Connestee Falls Art league, she was an award-winning artist who specialized in beautiful oil paintings. Her artistic abilities were also cultivated in her work in flowers from her career in flowers and gifts at The Plant Market in Greenville, which she owned and operated. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed Bocce, but her greatest joy and love was her family: her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her loving survivors include her husband of 66 years, Robert Locke Bell; their children: Bobby Bell, Jr. (Diana), of Raleigh, NC, Shannon Jones (Steve) of Greenville, SC and Mari Barrett (Glenn) of Charleston, SC.; grandchildren Locke Bell, Will Jones, Blair Sucher and Marian Barrett; and 3 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joan Sherrell (Russell) of Greensboro, NC and several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private service.
