Kenneth Byrd

Kenneth DeVaughn Byrd, 85, of Brevard, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. A Brevard native, he was the son of the late Oliver B. and Annie Lackey Byrd. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Milner, and his brother, Wayne Byrd.

His loving survivors include his wife, Joanna Shipman Byrd; their children: Kim Rogers (Steve) of Brevard, Kenny Byrd (Sheila) of Brevard and Lisa Dobbins (Al) of Mills River; grandchildren: Micah Rogers (Laurin), Jasmyn Denton (Lyle), Anna Travieso (Oliver), Brittany Byrd, Will Byrd, Katherine Purcell (Nathan), Emily Barnes (David), Breanna Dobbins; and great-grandchildren Judah, Ezra, Ada, Lucas, Evan, Olivia, Lola and David; his brothers Jim Byrd of Breavrd and Porky Byrd of Athens, GA.

There will be a Celebration of Kenneth’s life on April 4, 2020.
