Joanne Doyle

JoAnne June Doyle, 84, of Brevard, NC passed away Friday, April 9, 2021. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 24, 1936 to the late Edward and Sophia Brosofske Rozmary.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Eisenman and Marie Klim.

Mrs. Doyle was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She held many positions in various Catholic churches. Her greatest joy was her family and her faith. She also enjoyed traveling, dogs, quilting and teaching.

She had a teachers’ heart. She particularly enjoyed a class in which she taught high school students to care for preschool children. She loved teaching and taking part in different classes throughout her life such as religious education, meeting with a weekly prayer centering group in Brevard, a monthly small Christian Community meeting, or being a Lector and Cantor at St. Michael’s in Michigan. Reading was a passion for her and one of her favorite spiritual authors was Joyce Rupp, having read all of her books.

Travelling was enjoyed by her family and they traveled extensively. They travelled throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, including many National Parks, enjoying each other and the countryside.

Mrs. Doyle is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Lawrence A. Doyle and their daughter, Briget C. Doyle, PhD of Boiling Springs S.C., and by her brother, Edward Rozmary (Ellen).

A Memorial Mass for Mrs. Doyle will be held Saturday, at 11:00am April 17, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Shawn O’Neal officiating.  Inurnment will be held immediately following the service in the columbarium. The family wishes to thank Care Partners Hospice and the staff of Tore’s Home for their excellent care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
