Jack Bryson

Jack Newton Bryson, 90, of Brevard, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 27, 2020. Born in 1930, he was the youngest son of the late Ronal and Welosa Lusk Bryson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by four brothers: Floyd, Gene, Otis and Olin Bryson and two sisters, Louise Bryson McClain and Christine Bryson; and one grandchild, James Angel Byrd.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, JoAnn Siniard Bryson; daughter Coleen Bryson Byrd (Butch) of Brevard; son Ronald Scott Bryson (Linda) of Advance, NC; three grandchildren: Rachel Ann Byrd, Andrew Wesley Bryson and Elizabeth Grace Bryson; two step-grandchildren, James Joshua Byrd and Mindy Byrd Toler; six Great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was an active member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church where he served as head usher and on many committees. He was an avid golfer and founding member of Glen Cannon Country Club. He also loved to shoot pool and was considered a “shark.”
