We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations
On the afternoon of June 16, 2022, our mother, Debra Morris went Home after fighting a long illness. She was 63 years old. She was born in Asheville but raised her family in Jackson County. Everyone called her Debbie but to the five of us children she left behind; she was simply “mom.” She spent her whole life loving her family. She was still loving us as she took her last breath. She made friends with every person she met because she only ever had kindness to hand out and love to share.
Mom raised five children mostly alone. Tracy Morris, Teresa Morris, Tina Perry, Leman Morris, and Tony Morris. She was called “grandma” by 10 grandchildren: Tristan, Chandler, Blayne, Morgan, Lilly, Chesney, Aiden, Constance, Ethan, and Bella.
Mom leaves behind her own mother, Pat Gibson, and Aunt Carolyn Swann and two brothers Gary and Terry Gibson. She leaves several nieces and nephews, cousins, half siblings, and friends grieving her loss as well. She was preceded in death by her father Howard Gibson.
We would like to give thanks to Accordius Health of Brevard and to Four Seasons Hospice for taking such good care and loving our mom.
There will be a celebration of life to be determined later.
Memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28712.
