David Brown

May 31, 1947 — May 1, 2021

Brevard, NC

David Anthony Brown, 73, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2021; one month shy of his birthday. Born in Lewiston, Maine, he was the son of the late Donald Clarence Brown and Anita Plante Brown.

Even as a child, David had a deep love of music. He focused his talent into learning the Clarinet and with time, he developed the skills to master his abilities and was first chair in his high school band. He had a brilliant mind and was able to memorize the first clarinet part of the "1812 Overture" in his senior year of high school, which he performed flawlessly.  He continued to pursue his love of music while he attended the University of South Florida, playing Clarinet in the concert band, while also performing with the Tampa Symphony. David graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and began his lifelong career, at NASA, as a computer programmer.  He wrote telemetry software to support the unmanned Delta and Centaur rocket launches.  This was his passion for 30 years, until his retirement at the turn of the century.  David then transitioned his skills and focus to supporting and serving his neighbors in whatever way he could. He was always there to lend tools, a helping hand or his words of wisdom to anyone in need.

His survivors include his wife of over 51 years, Margo; their daughters: Jennifer Carouthers of Spring, TX and Adrienne Gerwig of Titusville, FL; grandchildren Dawson Carouthers, Gracie Carouthers, Dylan Gerwig, and Emelie Gerwig; his brothers Greg Brown (Maya) of Brandon, FL and Rod Brown (Kathy) of Tampa, FL.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to WELLS OF HOPE INTERNATIONAL, INC. to build a memorial well in loving memory of David A Brown. Or to PBS North Carolina as David was an avid supporter for many years.
