Brevard, formerly Cocoa, FL

Charlotte Augustine Daigle Loupe, 88, of Brevard, NC, formerly of Cocoa, FL., passed into the arms of our Lord on January 17, 2021 surrounded by family.

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. Charlotte graduated from LSU’s School of Business in 1954.  She married her high school sweetheart, Albin (Al) J Loupe, Jr., of Baton Rouge soon after graduation.  They moved to the Cocoa, FL. area in 1958, and lived there for almost 60 years.

Charlotte is survived by six children: Nancy Loupe, Don Loupe (Denise), Carol Elferdink (Bill), Dave Loupe (Ellen), Teri Guarini (Lou), Jim Loupe (Laurie), and an additional daughter by choice, Beje Achord, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Charlotte was very active in the Cocoa area community.  She was a founding member of the Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science.  She was also a life-long member of The Debutante Society of Central Brevard, The Junior League of Central and North Brevard, The Philip Perry DAR Chapter, Cocoa-Rockledge Garden Club, River Livers.

Charlotte had numerous life-long friends in Cocoa.  This extended family of friends leaned on and helped each other through the trials and tribulations of everyday life.

Charlotte moved to NC in 2016, close to two of her daughters.  She lived at College Walk Retirement Community and loved it there from the minute she moved in.  Her family would like to thank the community and staff at College Walk, Brevard, NC, for providing another home and environment that improved her vitality for life and provided countless hours of companionship, enjoyment of their many activities, especially the music that filled her life.

The family would also like to thank Charlotte’s caregivers that were her substitute daughters during the last year when no one else was allowed into College Walk.  They cared for her, sang with her and loved her so well.

Charlotte was a loving wife, mother and a true friend to many.  She was treasured and will be missed by the many people she touched.  She is now back in the arms of Al, walking on streets of gold and looking on the face of God.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, when the threat of the Covid pandemic is not so great.
