Pisgah Forest

Carl F. “Rick” Craig, Jr., 72, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. A native of Chester, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Carl F. and Bernell F. Craig. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death a sister, Karen Starnes, and granddaughter, Megan Bigham.

A member of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church, Rick loved his church family. Yet, even more than his church family, Rick loved his family, his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was proud of each one. But he loved his Lord most of all and other than his Heavenly Father, his greatest love was his wife, Frankie.

Rick also loved music of all types. He enjoyed playing his instruments and singing as well as teaching his grandchildren how to play. And he loved the University of South Carolina. No matter the sport, he was always supporting the Gamecocks.

His loving survivors include his wife of 53 years, Frances “Frankie” Craig; their sons David Brian Craig and wife Wendy ad Kevin Michael Craig and wife Sarah; grandchildren: Joshua Craig, Nicholas Bigham, Mitchell Roth, Logan Roth, Kayla Craig, Carleigh Craig, Makenzie Craig and Micah Craig; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Bigham, Landon Bigham, Brayden Bigham, Adalee Bigham and Miles Figueroa; his sister Libby Kirkley and husband Richard; brother-in-law Mickey Starnes and sister-in-law Gail Clark.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 15, 2020 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest. Only family will be at graveside, but friends are invited to remain in their cars and be a part of a drive-through visitation that will be held following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pisgah Forest Baptist Church, 494 Hendersonville Hwy, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768 or Gideon’s International, P O Box 1338, Brevard, NC 28712.

“My ambition is to lead a life that is pleasing to the Lord.”
